the early days.
Operating from a bedroom at home, Vanderquest begins arranging tape duplication for record label contacts.Arranging the logistics of collecting of masters from production houses, having copies made and distributed them to broadcasters and programme makers.
1979.
NEW PREMISES.
NEW MACHINES.
The purchase of 3 brand new 1”C machines from Sony and our own premises in Teddington, South-West London changed everything. We could now offer the fastest tape duplication turnaround times in the industry to go with our already well established and highly regarded service.
1980.
A MOVE INTO PRODUCTION.
The next logical step was a move into video production. Credits from the early days included:

1984. A PLACE IN HISTORY.
Band Aid was huge. Many sleepless nights making copy after copy with queues of motorbike couriers waiting at the door to take them to their destinations the moment they came off the machines. BBC, ITV, MTV, Heathrow, Gatwick and the world beyond.
1988.
THAT’S A LOT OF TAPE.
By now we’d become Scotch 3M’s biggest purchaser of video tape and had multiple banks of 1 inch, Umatic and VHS recorders. We expanded into the neighbouring building, adding full time motorcycle couriers to the team.
